Chef and owner of Atelier Crenn and Petit Crenn in San Francisco, Dominique Crenn was the first female chef in the U.S. to receive two Michelin stars. She has received scores of accolades, including being honored as a Food & Wine Best Chef and Eater’s “Chef of the Year” in 2015. Her first cookbook, Atelier Crenn: Metamorphosis of Taste, was released in November 2015 and received best cookbook of the year awards.

Crenn built an impressive resume, working under San Francisco luminaries such as Jeremiah Tower and Mark Franz, before making culinary history as the first female executive chef in Indonesia, heading the kitchen at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jakarta in 1997. Returning to San Francisco in 2008, Crenn headed the kitchen at Luce in San Francisco’s Intercontinental Hotel where she earned her first Michelin star in 2009 and again in 2010. In January 2011 she opened Atelier Crenn, which achieved its first Michelin star less than a year later, and then two stars in 2012 and 2013. In 2015, she opened Petit Crenn, a more casual concept and it was a huge success.
