Angelo Sosa was the youngest of his siblings, born in Connecticut to a Dominican father and an Italian mother who believed meals were serious affairs. He graduated with High Honors from the Culinary Institute of America in 1997, after running the kitchen at the Escoffier Room, one of the institute’s highly acclaimed restaurants.

In 2010, Angelo gained national recognition after being cast as a Season 7 "Chef-testant" on Bravo's hit reality show, Top Chef, and then invited to compete on "Top Chef All Stars" immediately afterwards. In the Summer of 2012, Flavor Exposed: 100 Global Recipes from Sweet to Salty, Earthy to Spicy showcased Angelo's obsession with combining flavors and cultures in the kitchen. And now, his new collaboration with TV & Radio Personality Angie Martinez called Healthy Latin Eating bring them together to offer you over 100 innovative and delicious recipes that blend the art of Latin cooking with healthy eating. Based on the sexy, spicy, and satisfying foods they cherish from their Cuban, Dominican, and Puerto Rican backgrounds, Angie and Angelo remix classic recipes like Ropa Vieja and Arroz con Pollo so everyone can enjoy eating the food they’ve grown up with, but without the guilt.

Chef Sosa is currently splitting his time between New York City and Las Vegas. In New York, he is the chef/owner of the Michelin recommended Hell’s Kitchen institution - Añejo, which recently debuted its second TriBeCa location.
