One of America’s leading voices on Asian cuisines, Andrea Nguyen is a celebrated author, cooking teacher, and culinary consultant based in Northern California. She’s known for diving deep into traditional techniques and interpreting them for modern cooks. Her writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Bon Appetit, Every Day with Rachael Ray, and Saveur. She is a contributing editor to Rodale's Organic Life.
Andrea’s landmark cookbooks, “Into the Vietnamese Kitchen”, “Asian Dumplings” and “Asian Tofu” were honored four times as finalists for James Beard Foundation and IACP cookbook awards. Her latest, “The Banh Mi Handbook”, was among NPR’s top 2014 cookbook picks.
She has appeared on both local and national television programs and been interviewed on radio programs, including NPR's Splendid Table, Martha Stewart Living's Everyday Food, and KCRW's Good Food. She has also been a featured speaker at the Sydney International Food Festival, the Culinary Institute of America’s World of Flavors conference, and Yale University.
